On February 8th 2012, E. Andrew (Andy) Mayo will assume the responsibilities of Executive Director of the Medical Benevolence Foundation.

Mayo has worked in faith-based, non-profit organizations overseas for the past seven years. Prior to that he spent ten years working for a number of non-profit hospitals in the USA. Most recently he has served as the Executive Director for CURE Clubfoot Worldwide. Before that he served as the CEO for AIC-CURE International Children’s Hospital in Kijabe, Kenya. God has uniquely gifted him and given him extensive training and a wide variety of professional healthcare experiences which will enable him to effectively lead MBF. He values partnership. He believes in empowerment of the local international Church partners–helping to equip and build their capacity to minister to the health and spiritual needs of people in their community. He says that "the local church is the most effective, sustainable and proper means for changing individuals in the developing world." He also sees the importance of mobilizing the Church in North America to be more actively engaged and more effectively involved in serving the poor in developing nations.

Shelley Ulrich served as the co-chair of the Executive Director Search Committee and on behalf of the committee stated, “The committee agreed that Andy Mayo brings a heart that is wholly devoted to Christ and that he would make a superb leader for MBF. Andy is highly skilled and inclined to be an active relational presence while organizing and motivating others at the heart of MBF projects and programs.“ Mayo grew up in a Christian home and attended a Presbyterian church in Indianapolis Indiana. In his youth he gave his life to Jesus Christ at a Christian summer camp. During high school he was very active in Young Life. He studied at Purdue University receiving his BS in Management and then pursued graduate work at Indiana University receiving his MBA.

Dr. Amy McAuley, President of MBF, said, "We are excited to have Andy leading our organization. We believe Andy will be a catalyst for the development of long-term, transformational relationships that support our international partners’ health care ministries globally, spreading the Gospel and changing lives through Christian witness. In addition to his management, marketing, and fundraising expertise he brings energy, passion and a deep faith commitment."
