E. Andrew Mayo, CEO
Andy has over 30 years of international hospital management and medical industry experience. Prior to joining MBF as President & CEO in 2012, Andy developed and directed CURE Clubfoot Worldwide, the largest clubfoot training and treatment program in the developing world, operating in more than 17 countries and treating over 20,000 children. During his time with CURE International he also served as Executive Director of the AIC-CURE International Children’s Hospital in Kijabe Kenya.
While Andy began his healthcare career serving in a number of community and regional hospitals in the U.S., he has also worked for major international companies, including Siemens Medical Systems and Aventis Pharmaceuticals. He has direct leadership experience in a wide variety of hospital settings, healthcare information systems and program development in developing countries.
Ron Jeffers, CFO
Ron has extensive experience in the finance and legal professions with non-profit and for-profit organizations and in private practice. Ron entered the field of non-profit management in 1999 following an 18 year career practicing law. His legal areas of expertise included taxation, estate planning and real estate. His non-profit career has included work with health, social services and religious organizations, trade associations, and clinics. Ron received a B.S. degree in Business with a concentration in marketing and a minor in psychology from Indiana University – Bloomington. He received a J.D. from Indiana University Law School – Indianapolis. For his second career he attended Lone Star and Houston Community Colleges where he completed enough accounting hours to sit for the C.P. A. exam and earn his C.P.A. certificate. He also completed several courses at the College of Biblical Studies – Houston. He and his wife Melissa have been active in several congregations in the Houston area and are currently members of Christ Evangelical Presbyterian Church. They have two grown sons and four grandchildren.
Jack Muthui, Africa Regional Manager
Jack Muthui lives in Nairobi, Kenya and is responsible for overseeing relationships with MBF partners in Africa mainly in Kenya, Malawi, and DR Congo. First and foremost, Jack is a committed Christian. He has worked in leadership positions in various organizations including Christoffel Blindenmission (CBM) where he was Country Coordinator for Kenya. Prior to CBM, Jack was the Executive Director of the AIC-CURE Children’s Hospital in Kijabe, Kenya. He has an MBA degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management from South Africa. Jack knows hospital operations as well as donor processes. Jack’s close proximity to partners in the region helps with access, and enables him to offer professional insight and wisdom as well.
Paule-Nise Stanfil, Haiti Country Coordinator
Paule-Nise was born in Bombardopolis in the North West, region of Haiti. She graduated from FSIL as valedictorian, the only BSN level nursing program in Haiti sponsored by MBF. She was certified in education by Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. She worked in her alma mater for 6 years as: clinical instructor, teacher and Coordinator of Student’s Affair and also worked with Breast cancer patients at HSC two times per year with a surgeon from the University of Michigan. She is married with two kids and feels blessed by God who gave her a beautiful family. She is excited to work towards improving the quality of health care in Haiti.
Lisa Cole, Director of Mary K Center for Global Nursing Development
Lisa joined MBF in September 2016. Her primary role is to help develop, oversee, and coordinate programs that increase the capacity and strengthen the quality and sustainability of the nursing profession in developing countries through collaborative global and US domestic partnerships.
With degrees in nursing, organizational communications and gerontology, Lisa has over 30 years of clinical, program development, management and leadership experience in healthcare. She has spent the last 10 years of her career in community outreach and engagement in undeserved communities in Indianapolis and is highly skilled at cross sector partnership development and creating sustainable impact.
Lisa and her husband Bob live in Indianapolis and are the proud parents of two young adults, Sam and Annie, and a “four-legged toddler”, Jazzy. Sam, a college graduate as of May 2016, recently moved to Chicago to begin his career as a business consultant. Annie, a sophomore at Taylor University, is majoring in elementary education with a minor in orphans and vulnerable children.
Lisa feels truly blessed to join the MBF family and to have the opportunity to take her experience sharing God’s values in a more secular environment and to grow them in a Christ-centered organization.
Sue Haas, Sr. Administrative Assistant
Sue joined the staff of MBF in September 2008 as the Administrative Assistant. She works directly in support of the CEO and collaboratively with all MBF staff to provide administrative organization and support of MBF’s daily work.Sue is a native Houstonian and has been a member of Grace Presbyterian Church since she was a little girl. Grace Church has been in partnership with MBF for over 35 years. She feels very blessed to be a part of the MBF family and for the opportunity to share God’s love through the work that MBF provides to our worldwide partners.
Sue enjoys spending time with her husband, Steve and their two children Steven and Kelly.
Patrick Coughlin, Vice President of Partner Engagement, Western US
Prior to joining MBF, Patrick and his wife, Melanie, operated their own consulting firm providing leadership and guidance to businesses and nonprofits in the areas of strategy, intentional team building, training and process creation. Patrick has more than 20 years experience business development, fund raising and strategic planning and earned his B.A. in Communications and French from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York.
Patrick, Melanie and their 12-year-old daughter live in Charlotte, North Carolina where they are members of the First Presbyterian Church in Concord. The family has always had a heart for mission work, sponsoring children in Mali and Haiti, as well as uplifting families in their own community who are economically challenged. Patrick was drawn to the work of MBF to not only share the Gospel, but to effect true and lasting change in communities most in need around the globe.
Mark Harris, Director of Partner Engagement, Western US
Prior to joining MBF, Mark worked as the Director of Development for Biblica (formerly the International Bible Society). It doesn’t take long to notice that Mark is passionate about working with churches, donors, and prospects in their journey of generosity, inspiring them to grow in their own journey with God and in appreciation of their impact through philanthropy. Mark is an active leader in his church where he serves as an Elder and plays a role in the preaching rotation. In his spare time, Mark can be found relaxing with his family, reading a good book, playing golf, or coaching his daughter’s soccer team. Mark lives in Sacramento, CA with his wife, three children, and a Boxer by the name of Buster Dietrich Harris (that’s right Mark is an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants and Dietrich Bonheoffer).
Caitlin Zdenek, Champions Program Manager
Caitlin moved to Houston in 2013 after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Economics from Texas A&M University. Prior to joining MBF, Caitlin spent 4 years as an account specialist for ADP, LLC focused on growing and maintaining relationship with CPA firms and small businesses in the greater Houston area.
Caitlin resides the Westbury area with her husband, Michael, and their two dogs, Trapper and Jackson. She is an active member of her local church, Houston’s First Baptist and enjoys spending time engaged in outdoor activities.
Shaleen Lynce, Marketing Associate
Shaleen is an Ohio transplant to the MBF main office in Houston. Shaleen has a wide spread background, most recently doing professional fundraising before MBF. She loves being able to spread the love of Christ in her daily life. She is excited to be working with the many talented staff members of MBF in order to combine the unique gifts God has given to each person to further His Kingdom.
Dori Donnell, Marketing Associate
Dori comes to us having a fresh understanding of church culture, as she worked inside one for over nine years. Having felt the call to transition into the city, she found herself partnered up with other organizations, bringing even more light into the nonprofit world. Dori likes to think of each day as a chance to discover something new, and is thrilled to be at MBF. She is excited to see what it looks like when the Body of Christ comes together to dispel the darkness in our hurting world. Dori and her husband, Charlie have made Houston their home, along with their three teenagers.
